Living Room Coordinating Area Rugs

Living room coordinating area rugs. I have a large open concept living dining room and i m trying to pair two different area rugs one for the living area and one for the dining area. I m not a fan of anything matching. Decorating rules are not set in stone. Use some of these guidelines to get you started.
The most important thing to remember when coordinating area rugs in an open floor plan is that they should share a similar color palette or at least have one or two colors in common. Breaking them is part of the fun. Coordinating rugs doesn t have to be hard. Matching rugs would look as bad as a 3 piece living room suite from the discount furniture store. Would welcome suggestions for something to coordinate for the dining area. Natural fiber rugs jute sisal seagrass work really well but matching rugs with a large scale pattern can bring some major visual bang to the scene.
